EyeQ DS: How high is your EyeQ

This is the very first project I ever started with Palib, I never finished it. I 'found' it back when I was cleaning my hard-disk and decided to complete it to share it with the Palib community.
What is it all about? Just see if your EyeQ is as high as Einsteins IQ. Give it a try an improve your score. The more you play, the better you get ;-)

It plays better on real hardware, the stylus is just a bit quicker as your mouse Tongue

Download : EyeQ v0.7

My Personal score is 19, so I dare to challenge you to break this record  !!

Have Fun

Shocked Did you use an IRQ interrupt for the gradient fading? Shocked

Tried running on my M3 and it ran well until it got to the actually game... then both screens went black  Undecided

Tried loading from both the M3 and DSision 2 but no go.

I tried it on a M3 Perfect and with a R4 card and it worked like charm, maybe because I still had a slot 2 device plugged. There where the screen turns blank is probably where I try to access the FS to retrieve the highscore file, I will try to get hold of another card and give it a try. The gradient fading is indeed making use of an IRQ interrupt, this and the project I'm currently working on is to get a hang of programming on the DS, the one thing I'm still strugling with is the use of a  FS, EFS or FAT, and that is exactly where your blank screens turn up. I will try to fix this later this week but this is not very likeliy since I will be visiting Nice for work next week.  I don't mind sharing the code but I must admit it is a real mess and I do not intend to rewrite the thing :-)

So there will be definitely a new release fixing the black screens !

Thanks Grin

I look forward to it. If you ever want a second pair of eyes to examine the saving and loading functions, I can look it over. File I/O was one of the hardest things for me to learn... perhaps that's why I love it so much. Cheesy

I managed to fixed the black screen issue, it was indeed related to the save game issue. The download link in the top post is updated. I realise that running it on an emulator will not allow you to break the record... so no more excuses now. :-)

Have fun

Hm... I found a bug Shocked

When you press and hold start in the game, it stops the balls in mid air. The timer keeps going though.

By the way... I made it to 14 (I played fair though and didn't exploit the bug Tongue)

Hmm bug Tongue I rather refer to that as a hidden feature Smiley It is still a left-over of code debugging Wink It doesn't give you much of an advantage though since the timer keeps running.  But fair enough, I will give it a fix later this week.
